Turn on automatic logging
Automatic logging is part of Premium. For RezTally to log every day, even when the app is closed, it needs two location settings:
- Allow Location Access: Always. iOS first offers “While Using the App”; RezTally then asks again for Always. You can also set it in the iPhone’s Settings app: RezTally, Location, Always.
- Precise Location: on. Without it, iOS gives a position that can be kilometres out, which can put you in the wrong country near a border or a coast.
The Today screen tells you if either is missing, and opens the right page in Settings.
How it saves battery
RezTally uses iOS’s low-power location services: significant location changes and visits. It doesn’t track you continuously. Your positions are turned into a country, and a state in the US, on your iPhone and are never sent anywhere.
Days with nothing logged
If your iPhone is off, or you stay in one place long enough that iOS sends no location, a day can have nothing logged. Today lists those days from the last 180 so you can fill them in: open the day and add where you were, or add a trip.
